K1-MET GmbH (K1-MET) is one of the leading European research and technology organizations focusing on metallurgical and environmental process development. With approximately 80 employees at its two main locations in Austria (Linz, Leoben), K1-MET’s research is focused on metallurgical process efficiency and circularity, decarbonization and sector coupling, as well as simulation and data analysis. The company's beginnings date back to 2001, when a consortium of four companies worked together, laying the foundation for its formal establishment in 2015.
Role in project
K1-MET is responsible for:
- Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication
- Lead of the definition and monitoring of KPIs
- Support in optimizing the charge mix for enhanced scrap utilisation in melting
